DAVID RAGAN TODAY
Twenty-three year-old David Ragan has already accomplished much in the racing world. The rising star joins the UPS Racing team driving the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing car for the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series after a successful 2008 season, where he finished 13th and barely missed the Chase with six top-five and 14 top-ten finishes.
DAVID RAGAN RACING
David Ragan: Driver of the UPS No. 6.
David began his racing career in 1997 at age 11 in the Bandolero Series, winning its National Championship in 1998-1999. At 18, he began driving in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, NASCAR Busch Series and ARCA rides. In 2006 he was recruited through Roush Fenway Racing's Driver program and soon received honors as Busch Series 2007 Rookie of the Year.
GROWING UP
David was born Dec. 24, 1985 in Unadilla, Georgia and grew up immersed in racing. His father, Ken, is a former NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver and his uncles and cousins also are involved in the sport. But, not wanting to be known as just the son of a former driver, David worked hard to let his performance establish his reputation.
