The Jacksonville South Center (SLIC – 3204) in the North Florida District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center for the race this past weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. Out of the categories used to measure success, the center was the district’s top ranked group in eight sections.

Congratulations to all of the employees at the Jacksonville South Center for a job well done.

The Danville Center (SLIC – 2451) in the Virginia District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center for the Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

The Monroe Center (SLIC – 2811) in the West Carolina District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center for the Charlotte race last Saturday night.

The center was recognized for its outstanding improvement across all major business elements. The center also demonstrated gains in the Financial, Customer, and People Perspectives.

Each week, the UPS ‘Maximum Center’ program recognizes a UPS operating facility or Freight Service Center for success in safety and service. Chosen facilities are recognized with its Standard Location Identification Code (SLIC) or Freight Service Center three-letter code on the wing of David Ragan’s No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion.

 

The UPS Maximum Center at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California was the Irvine Center (SLIC 9273) in the South California District.

The center was chosen because of its achievements on the Balanced Scorecard in August, which is used to measure success at UPS centers across the country. The center achieved an overall number one ranking, with highest points earned in the Financial, Customer, and People Perspectives. Of the total 19 elements measured, 15 were 100 percent effective.

Matt Hobson, a 13-year UPS employee out of the Irvine Center, was in attendance at Sunday’s race.

“It is very exciting and good to be recognized as a center,” said Hobson. “It’s good for the center because we’ve all been working really hard to be the best, so it’s nice that it is getting noticed and good for all of our employees.”

The Wichita North Center (SLIC 6720) was the featured UPS Maximum Center at Kansas Speedway.

Jim Hauserman, who works as a business manager at the center, was in attendance at Sunday’s Price Chopper 400.

“It is a real honor for everyone at the center to have our number on David’s car,” said Hauserman. “All of the employees have done a great job this year and it’s nice to see our center recognized on the car. As far as safety and performance, we’re definitely better than we were last year, and we’re continuing to improve in every area at our center.”

Each week, the UPS ‘Maximum Center’ program recognizes a UPS operating facility or Freight Service Center for success in safety and service. Chosen facilities are recognized with its Standard Location Identification Code (SLIC) or Freight Service Center three-letter code on the wing of David Ragan’s No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion.

The Dublin Center (SLIC – 2430) in the Virginia District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway. The Dublin Center was ranked No.1 in the district for the first 6 months of 2009 in several key areas of measurement.

Stephen Smith, a 33-year UPS employee who delivered the green flag for the race, is based out of the Dublin Center.

“We were all excited about our center to be the Maximum Center,” said Smith. “We’re all proud and we work hard at our jobs, so it is a nice honor.”

Each week, the UPS ‘Maximum Center’ program recognizes a UPS operating facility or Freight Service Center for success in safety and service. Chosen facilities are recognized with its Standard Location Identification Code (SLIC) or Freight Service Center three-letter code on the wing of David Ragan’s No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion.

The featured UPS Maximum Center for the Pep Boys Auto 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway this past weekend was the Rome Center (SLIC 3010). The Georgia District was recognized for being 100 percent effective in all Internal Business Perspective elements during the first six months of the year.

Congratulations to the Rome Center on a job well done!

This past weekend at Michigan International Speedway, the Jackson Center (SLIC 4920) in the Michigan District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center. This was the second time that the local center was featured on David Ragan’s No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion.

The Jackson Center has consistently been at or near the top in performance measurements for growth, safety, service and productivity elements in the district.

This past weekend at Watkins Glen International, the Henrietta Center (SLIC 1441) in the Empire State District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center.

In the month of June, the center was 100 percent effective in all Internal Business Perspective elements and other elements used to measured success at the center.

Steve Zepp, who was part of the UPS Trackside Services crew for the weekend, works out of the Henrietta Center.

“We were all very proud to hear that our center was going to be featured on David’s car for the race,” said Zepp. “We’ve all been working really hard at the center for the scores that we’ve received, and it’s neat to see our number going around the track.”
