The Jacksonville South Center (SLIC – 3204) in the North Florida District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center for the race this past weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. Out of the categories used to measure success, the center was the district’s top ranked group in eight sections.

Congratulations to all of the employees at the Jacksonville South Center for a job well done.

The Danville Center (SLIC – 2451) in the Virginia District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center for the Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

The Monroe Center (SLIC – 2811) in the West Carolina District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center for the Charlotte race last Saturday night.

The center was recognized for its outstanding improvement across all major business elements. The center also demonstrated gains in the Financial, Customer, and People Perspectives.

The Wichita North Center (SLIC 6720) was the featured UPS Maximum Center at Kansas Speedway.

Jim Hauserman, who works as a business manager at the center, was in attendance at Sunday’s Price Chopper 400.

“It is a real honor for everyone at the center to have our number on David’s car,” said Hauserman. “All of the employees have done a great job this year and it’s nice to see our center recognized on the car. As far as safety and performance, we’re definitely better than we were last year, and we’re continuing to improve in every area at our center.”

For the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway this past weekend, the Waldorf Center (SLIC 2060) in the Metro D.C. District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center.

The Waldorf Center was chosen for the honor because it has ranked No. 1 on the center-level Balanced Scorecard, which is used to measure success, for the entire year.

Congratulations to all UPS employees at the Waldorf Center for a job well done!

For this past weekend’s race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the Barre Center (SLIC 0560) in the New England District was the featured UPS Maximum Center.

The center received all possible points on the district’s second quarter scorecard and ranked number one is seven of 12 elements used to measure success.

Randy Tullar, a 15-year UPS employee out of the Barre Center, was in attendance at Sunday’s race.

 

“That’s a pretty cool deal,” said Tullar of the 0560 SLIC appearing on the No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion. “It’s an honor to me and to everyone in our center. We all do our best to work hard and do a good job.”

Each week, the UPS ‘Maximum Center’ program recognizes a UPS operating facility or Freight Service Center for success in safety and service. Chosen facilities are recognized with its Standard Location Identification Code (SLIC) or Freight Service Center three-letter code on the wing of David Ragan’s No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion.

The Dublin Center (SLIC – 2430) in the Virginia District was selected as the UPS Maximum Center for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway. The Dublin Center was ranked No.1 in the district for the first 6 months of 2009 in several key areas of measurement.

Stephen Smith, a 33-year UPS employee who delivered the green flag for the race, is based out of the Dublin Center.

“We were all excited about our center to be the Maximum Center,” said Smith. “We’re all proud and we work hard at our jobs, so it is a nice honor.”

This past weekend, the Whites Creek East Center (SLIC 3715) was selected as the UPS Maximum Center. The Tennessee District facility was selected because of its high scores on Rank and Rate results for the months of May, June and July.

Julie Hoff, who works out of the Whites Creek East Center, attended the race on behalf of the center as part of UPS employee hospitality. Hoff was selected to attend the race as a reward for her success in the area of service.

This past weekend at Pocono Raceway, the Pocono Center (SLIC 1840) in the Central Pennsylvania District was featured as the UPS ‘Maximum Center.’

The center has not experienced any injury in two years and three months and has exceeded multiple goals and benchmarks put in place to measure success at the center.

Jack Clark, an employee who works out of the Pocono Center, enjoyed a day at the race as part of the UPS employee hospitality program.

“Just like David’s race team, becoming the Maximum Center was really a team effort,” said Clark on Sunday. “Everyone that I work with does the very best job they can do every day, and it’s a honor to have our number on David’s car.”

This past weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Tri-City Center (SLIC 4636) from the Indiana District was selected as the Maximum Center featured on David Ragan’s Ford Fusion as the UPS Maximum Center.

The Tri-City Center finished atop the Indiana District’s most recent Balanced Scorecard measuring its operations on growth, safety, service and productivity elements.
